It's been a while
03 May 2013 - 03:06 PM
Yeah, I spent a little over a month participating in this contest by some random company, ended up being a grand prize winner and they decided to fly me to their offices. Fun times! Lots of food and stuff. How's everyone been?

"The following search terms are not allowed and were removed from your query: code"
17 March 2013 - 01:00 PM
Just a little thing, I was trying to search the forum if anything related to the "Google Code Jam" was ever posted, but "code" is an prohibited search term, which makes sense when just searching regularly but when using verbatim don't you think it should be allowed? I know this is most likely to do with IP.Board but just something to address. -
Personal Blog Front-Page Design
23 August 2012 - 02:37 AM
Here is a full page-ish of the blog I am designing. The subtitle is not final and really just a placeholder (kind of cheesy). But yeah, this is what I've come up with:
(Live Demo: http://qas.im/life/) (note: subject to change, therefore image is provided)
So where the kitten is I am thinking of putting a high quality picture of me done professionally, but it will be kind of a happy mood. The next empty box might be twitter, feed, and the third tags of some sort. Any opinions on the current design?
In the image, you will notice that each word in the subtitle is a different opacity, in the live demo each one fades to a random value continuously for a cool effect.
Each blog item can be expanded by clicking on the arrow that fade in when you hover over them, and can be contracted the same way. It will expand to the appropriate length of that blog post, or i am thinking of expanding it a bit, and making the area scrollable.
In the mobile version, there will only be one column of blog posts, the right side-bar will be disregarded.
The blogging system will be made by me from scratch, I still don't know how to integrate comments into the design without hurting it. That will take some thought. Any suggestions? -
Header for a blog
11 August 2012 - 11:28 PM
So I'm thinking of starting a blog, and here is a header I have been working on all day:

I need opinions on it, I'm really not sure if it is a good concept or not so far. Too many words? Lack of colours? Love to know what you thought when you first looked at it. Were you lost? Didn't know where to start?

Google I/O 2012: What the future holds
27 June 2012 - 10:42 AM
This year's Google I/O starts in under an hour. I know I am excited, and have been waiting for it to start ever since I woke up today, constantly refreshing. The event will be live streamed here:
https://developers.g....com/events/io/
Quote
Google I/O 2012 brings together thousands of developers for three days of deep technical content focused
on building the next generation of web, mobile, and enterprise applications with Google and
open web technologies such as Android, Google Chrome, Google APIs, Google Web Toolkit, App Engine, and more.
What are you most excited about? What do you think will be announced? And maybe we can discuss our opinions throughout this event.
