  1. [Javascript] Someone familiar with Facebook's Open graph

    Looking for a member here who is familiar with Facebook's OpenGraph API and has a couple hours to spare some time.

    What I want to build
    I want to build a tiny fun little webapp that reads your Facebook Friends' recent status updates and activity and tries to extract their current mood. The app would basically look for a set of keywords in their recent status updates (example ["Sad", "Bored", "Mad", "Excited", "Happy"]) and display a list of your friends and their moods.

    Why?
    For shits and giggles

    Why do you need me?
    I need you because if I tried to write this myself it would take me 2 weeks+ to get it working, and even then it wouldn't function very smoothly.

    From what I can see, the Graph API doesn't work with Facebook's new "Feelings" feature so until then we'll rely on the keywords. Once it becomes available we can combine that go obtain more accurate results. If anyone wants to help out please post here.

    So it's a pretty cool experiment. A full screen video is playing while the site is recording thew x,y coords of your cursor. It will give you basic instructions for you to follow (things like follow the dot, point to where you live, etc). It then takes all the thousands of recorded cursor movements and overlays them on the video with you. The ending outcome is pretty great.

    I know we're lacking designers here, but has anyone used it? It looks like a great tool for most of the devs here who can't afford Photoshop and/or don't have time to learn it (there's a lot to learn). Sketch is tailored specifically towards web design and works in ways similar to Fireworks. I have it but I haven't really attempted to create something with it.

    So...last week I was laid off from my office job, so I am forced to start freelancing again. My portfolio is very dated and I'm trying to make something modern that will attract new clients. I'd love some feedback on the direction I'm going in. I know most members here aren't designers but it's great to get feedback from all types of people.

It is not a Facebook Like button that you click when you think the post was funny or an opinion you agree with. I've noticed a lot of posts lately that have been getting a bunch of positive reputation that weren't at all helpful or beneficial to the discussion.
