run socket.io on port 80

hello
I made simple chat based on nodeJs and socket.io
the chat run without problems on all browsers http://socket.io/#browser-support
but when I want to put the javascript client on my php website (vBulletin) I found problems on some browsers
IE6 and IE7: the send and emit function doesn't work
IE8: if i receive data from another client I see the IE loading icon like a iframe reloaded
I want code way to run chat on all supported browsers http://socket.io/#browser-support
