Byte Bistro - Open for business!

Xen VPS hosting for as little as $3.95 per month!
Hey guys,

So today we got Byte Bistro set up. We aim to deliver speedy and robust Virtual Private Servers at a price that doesn't hurt your pocket.

Check out the plans @ http://bytebistro.com/vps.html

Xen PV powered VPSes come with SolusVM Control Panel, premium support and an IPv4 address. You can purchase an extra IP in the cart if you need it. We also offer DirectAdmin if you want it.

Connection is capped at 100Mb/s, however we'll uncap it for a small fee (which means you'll get 1Gb/s!)
Test file @ http://bytebistro.com/speed/100mb.img

IRCds, IRC channel bots, BNCs and game servers can be run freely.

If you require IPv6, more bandwidth etc., go to the clients area and submit a ticket on signup :).

What's the hardware specifications of the nodes, and what is the maximum number of VPSes that will run per node?
Daniel15! :D
Repeat after me: jQuery is not JavaScript. It is not the answer to every JavaScript-related question. When you have to write some JavaScript, do not instantly react with "Oh, I'll do that with jQuery!"

javascript:alert((''+[][[]])[!+[]+!+[]]+(![]+[])[+!+[]]+(''+!+[]/[])[+!+[]]+([![]]+[][[]])[+!+[]+[+[]]]+(''+!![])[+!+[]+!![]+!![]]+(![]+[])[!+[]+!+[]]+(+!+[])+(!+[]+!+[]+!+[]+!+[]+!+[]))

It's one of these I think: http://www.ovh.ie/products/eg_amd.xml

If that's the case (and that is the server in use), I don't think I'd use a VPS provider that only uses software-based RAID or SATA disks for any serious hosting. It'd be fine with a few VPSes, but would probably get crazy slow once it has a large amount of load (or 10+ VPSes on it). Hardware RAID and SAS (Serial attached SCSI) or SCSI 10,000 or 15,000K RPM disks are the way to go for a high-performance hosting server. Hosts like YardVPS and such use hardware RAID and fast disks and they're still very slow at times.

Sorry Fike. Don't take my comments offensively. I'd probably still try out your services! Although I reckon the budget VPS space is quite crowded. Offering VPSes that cost more but are better quality may be the way to go. I know I'd love a high performance VPS like Linode, except cheaper. ;P

Well, there's an option for hardware RAID for €19.99. Not sure if they use that, but I know it is an option

Can I cancel my VPS at every time or do I need to sign up for at least some time?
Where are your servers located?

If you don't like our service, you can cancel within 7 days of setup and get a full refund. After that, if you cancel, there's no refund for that month.

Servers are in Roubaix, France.

You can cancel any time you wish, there's no subscriptions. So let's say, after 5 weeks you decide to cancel, you can do so from the client control panel.

EDIT: Just want to add, you can pay quaterly yearly etc. as well as monthly.

Just in case anyone's wondering, sales have DRAMATICALLY spiked, because of this we've temporarily closed our order system. We need to do some maintenance, after this, orders will reopen.

Feel free to signup for our Appetiser plan (when we start accepting more orders) to test it out, and if you like our services and would like to upgrade, simply open a support ticket and we'll upgrade you. And remember, if you feel like cancelling and would like a refund, just cancel in the client panel within 7 days of your VPS being set up.

I'm not too familiar with the server hosting world. What is the real difference between buying Cloud services and VPS? I notice the prices, and the billing models are completely different - however they both offer the exact same services, in terms of ssh'ing and root abilities.
