[Django] Did the tutorial, what's next?

So for my new job, i'm actually going to be doing frontend design work AND handling the backend. All our sites are going to be built on the Django framework so i've started learning it. I have very little experience with Python but haven't had too many snags (yet).

So, my question. I read the tutorial on their website, how to make a poll. That's fine and dandy but I don't need a poll and I don't know enough to start making my own applications. Really the first thing I need is to build a small webapp that saves email addresses. I have the database set up, and I can add new emails via python's shell in terminal. How do I start getting into templates?

tl;dr: My local server still displays the default welcome page, how do I send it to an html page (template) and how do I make the html page talk with django and save values from forms etc. Just a link to a tutorial or something will be fantasmic :D
DO NOT OPEN THIS

I'm fairly sure all of that stuff is covered in the introductory tutorial? :o
This part is probably the bit that will be useful to you.
