Two tiny features!

Hey everyone!

Two tiny features got added to wdR today. Nothing groundbreaking, but you can now see a listing of everyone who +1'ed ("repped") a post by clicking the green number in the bottom-right corner of any post that people have given rep to. You can finally see who's showing you appreciation for your time and well thought-out posts! In the future, I'll probably turn the green + button into a vB-style "Thanks!" button to make this a bit more intuitive and obvious.

You can also set a background on your profile page, too. Just upload one to any image host, and you can set it as your background in your profile settings under "Profile Customization". I put a quick tile up on mine so you can see what it looks like :).

These two are just the intro to some MUCH MUCH bigger, Node.js-powered, custom-written features on the way, though :D :D. More on that soon!

Enjoy!

I've wanted this for so long <3
Is there any chance we can get a list of which of our posts have received rep too? It'd be awesome if we could get a list so we can see which posts are really helpful to people without having to search through a history of all old posts, just to find the ones that have been +'d.

Now that reps are public, you could add back the -rep button, right?

I don't think neg-rep is ever coming back. The only thing it succeeds in doing is making people feel like shit, which is something I like to stay away from here. If someone's post is somehow inaccurate, it's MUCH more constructive to post a reply and explain where they went wrong than clicking a big 'ole - button and calling it a day. And if you're looking to use the - button on spam-like posts, that's not really what rep is for either. ...which is another reason I'm hoping to change the + button to something else soon, because that button saying "Thanks!" or "This post helped me!" or "This post answered my question!" would convey its intended meaning a lot better. As-is, a lot of people still use it like an "I like this" button, clicking it when someone starts flaming someone you don't like. And that sucks. Not only should that sort of thing never be encouraged here to begin with, rep becomes a much more helpful thing if you can use it to judge the accuracy or helpfulness of a post.

You're right, but what if someone happens to post flame stuff or acts like a complete douchebag? I could press the -rep button and show him that such behaviour is not desired here.

Maybe I'm just too used to Reddit :P

Setting a color as a background doens't replace the background image, I had to create a 1px by 1px image with my color as the background then set the background image tiled to that. Might want to fix that.

Yeah-- that's the shitty part. I'll see if there's an easy fix, but that's because there's a background image so the background color never takes effect. I'll check into it to see if there's an upgrade-safe method of fixing it though :)
