Salutations! I hope I am posing this query in the correct spot. If anyone is feeling bored and helpful, I found a supposed Game Engine written in Ruby on Rails over at github (https://github.com/F...ceBook-Game-App), and I'm wondering if any experienced Ruby folks would be interested in perusing it to determine if it seems legitimate or fraught with peril. I'm a complete game development novice (very little knowledge whatsoever), but I was hoping that if it looks like a good starting point, I can use it as a learning tool and a template to develop my game.

Seems legit. If only I knew Rails I'd give it a shot!

Hi,

I think you'll be worse off adopting such a large code-base from the outset if you're new to it.
The code at a glance looks pretty good but there's a heck of a lot there.

I'd need to install an earlier version of Ruby(1.8.7) just to try it out.

Why don't you try installing it and finding out yourself if it does what you want.

Thank you very much for your time. I do plan on installing the program myself in the near future, but I was hoping to have experienced eyes take cursory glances at it in order to reduce the risk that I would open myself up to being compromised by malicious snippets contained within (ie. viruses). In the meanwhile, I have been looking at Rails and HTML/CSS tutorials so that I can have an idea of what I'm looking at and what I'll need. I'll continue perusing this forum for tutorials and links, but if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Once again, thank you very much for your time! :)

Sometimes you really need to do it your own and see how it works. Try it and give us more feedback.

Why would he be fighting a gate? Did he forget the key?
