Post a new thread here ONLY if you already have a project plan and know what you need. Then, PLEASE include what you need in the title. Example: "[Designer] to help build a cooking site". If you're extra awesome, edit the title and add [CLOSED] to it once your team is filled! If you'd just like to be included in someone else's project but don't have an idea of your own, please don't post a new topic.

ONLY APPLY TO A POSTING if you can fill the spot that's been asked for! When someone is asking for a designer, offering your help as a developer only clutters and derails the thread. Posting to talk about the project idea (unless it's relevant to you working with the poster) is discouraged as well -- that sort of talk is what The Idea Oven is for. Thanks for helping to keep these threads clutter-free! :)

[Print Designer] for wedding invitations

Some of you guys are such amazing designers. I was curious if any of you would be interested in creating a design for a wedding invitation. The style fits in with a lot of the type of designing you guys love to do.

Something similar to this is wanted:

Posted Image

In a rectangular format (I don't have the exact dimensions with me). My fiance likes the rings and chapel in that example, but she hates the bouquet and would prefer something like two stylistic lovebirds.

If anyone is interested, PM me for details. :)
Since I'm not a designer and don't know how involved such a design is, I dunno what to offer for compensation.

Thanks. :)

The dimensions of card stock we have is 8.5" by 5.5" and is ivory colored. We can get white cardstock if necessary, we were just given 200 of the ivory for free.

The colors are freesia (736DAD) and wisteria (906C8D).

I'll PM you the rest.

Dang. I'm a designer and even I didn't have hex codes for my wedding colors. We went with "blue" and "pink" :P

Pretty much what Callumacrea said. xD

The hex codes were for your benefit. The bridesmaid dresses are these, in the "freesia" color (the wisteria also comes from that page, although I dunno why). So rather than say freesia (which seems to be inconsistent with what David's Bridal considers freesia), I gave you the hex code for it. :D

Yea, that's right. They're both purplish. The dress I linked to is "gem" (green) by default, which isn't correct. Check the color swatches at the bottom and to the right of the dress. The freesia color is the last one on the first row, and the wisteria is the last one on the bottom row.

Edit:

The colors are freesia █████ and champagne █████ (#F3E5AB). I just confirmed this with the slave driver. The wisteria is for something else. >_<

I'd post a pic of our invitation but I don't have it handy just now... Ours is fully handmade and was TOO MUCH work... 4 different layers of hand-cut paper and textile material.... ;)

Wow, somehow I missed this post before. Congratulations on your nuptials, hope all went well! :)

@Aaron: I've been prodded to get a status update, to make sure they were still being taken care of. No rush, she just worries. :)

So what design did you end up going with?

Sorry I haven't gotten back to answering you. I've been so crazy busy the past few months.

We didn't end up going with anything. In fact, we've had to postpone the whole thing. >_<

We were originally going to have it at the beginning of January, but everyone threw a hissy fit about it interfering with New Years plans. So we bumped it to my Spring break, which we later were informed coincided with Easter Holiday, so we bumped it to May. Well, Lauren's Maid of Honor happened to get pregnant on her honeymoon, and her due date is the beginning of May.

Which worked out as a slightly-good cosmic coincidence. Last week, when applying/interviewing for summer internships, I was actually offered a 6-month co-op from the beginning of January through June. And it's in the Greater New York City area. If we had been any further along with plans, for any of the dates we've tried, it would have been really difficult to get time off of my internship for it.
