Patches

This is an idea that I've been toying with, Making a logo in a patch layout. What do you all think? good idea or total shit and I should just scrap it and delete it. It's kinda rough but I'd like some input.

Good idea, but the execution isn't great: the "patch" part.

Your stitches are wayyyy out of proportions. Try shrinking down your logo to a "usable" size. The stitches disappear.
You should make the stitches nice and big and bold, roughly the same size as the letters, and potentially rounded.

Here's something I was working on earlier (totally unrelated):

Having the same width & colour gives it a nice uniformity.

Hope this helps :)

Yea, I do need to size it down, I wanted it retina ready and over shot it. Is your font gradient covered but not the stitches or do they all have a gradient

Erm, none of them have a gradient  The background does, though (it's part of this).

Retina isn't an issue, though. It's vector, it'll scale.

I'll leave these images here, I am working out a newish way. The font will likely remain but the rest of my stitching will change.

I really like it, you could use it as a logo, but change the colors to a little darker so it fits the background better.
