webdevRefinery Forum: Javascript developer needed - webdevRefinery Forum

Post a new thread here ONLY if you already have a project plan and know what you need. Then, PLEASE include what you need in the title. Example: "[Designer] to help build a cooking site". If you're extra awesome, edit the title and add [CLOSED] to it once your team is filled! If you'd just like to be included in someone else's project but don't have an idea of your own, please don't post a new topic.

ONLY APPLY TO A POSTING if you can fill the spot that's been asked for! When someone is asking for a designer, offering your help as a developer only clutters and derails the thread. Posting to talk about the project idea (unless it's relevant to you working with the poster) is discouraged as well -- that sort of talk is what The Idea Oven is for. Thanks for helping to keep these threads clutter-free! :)

Javascript developer needed

Hi,

You might've seen my previous project, that online stickman game. I continued working on it and now I require some help.

I need someone to make a 2D map coded in javascript:

I suggest using localStorage for the map, but it's up to you how you want to do it.
A perfect example of how the map needs to look like is BrowserQuest (http://github.com/mozilla/BrowserQuest). It will be tile-based and there will have to be some general objects around the map like trees, rocks, etc.

I can't offer payment in return, but at least it is something fun to work on.

If you are interested, please PM me. :)

You don't need to bump the topic when it's the top one in the section.

Quinn is right. You don't need to bump a thread every other day. Be patient, if anyone is interested they will PM you.

Alright. I am going away for 1 week tomorrow, so the deadline is on next week Monday. I have already started working on the designing and development and it turned out that it is not going to be as hard as I thought.

The applicant is going to get a JSON / XML (personal preference) file from me (in case of XML, I also give you a small library my friend wrote to parse the XML values easily) and the job will be to write a renderer.

There will be a tile sheet included with the file, so you have to slice the image up (See: https://developer.mo..._images#Slicing) and according to the information in the JSON/XML file, draw it on the screen.

PM me if you are interested.
