Get some logo critique

Anchor + sand ..wait
It's been a while since anything was posted here so here goes. This is a logo I'm currently working on for myself, some sort of blog or another. Anyway, it's Anchor + Ampersand = Anchorsand. I have a weird attachment to these to symbols so I thought they would make a good brand name. Here is the stylized to-be Dribbble shots. Thoughts/critique?

I absolutely love it. Really creative and professional.
The only thing that could possibly improve this is raising the size of "A" and "S" letters from the AnchorSand text which will make it easier to read (though the anchor already gives a hint about it).

Just beautiful...

I personally would like those "tracer lines" to be fading away as they get farther away from the logo.

Yeah, I noticed some small inconsistencies with that font as it scaled but it seems to be CS6's new pixel perfect snapping. I really love it but that's one downside I noticed.

Yeah, I managed to find that clothing line after a Google search but I never seen it beforehand. Do you really think all ideas are original though?

Thank you! That's actually a good idea. Presentation is key!

If you're going for a retro look, circa early 60's, then I sort of like it. I like the clean and simplicity of the design.

However, since Aaron did some leg work and has posted a link. (I also google for ideas or to make sure my idea isn't already in use.)

Question:
What are you focusing on? The motif?
The anchor? The ampersand? Or the end result?

I see a focus on the "font" aspect of the final result. Hence being a literary / writting focus for the logo's usage.

However, did anybody notice the end result? Anchor + sand, that made me think of:

Some sand with the ampersand sunk into the sand. So basically a wavy like line with the ampersand placed to the right (thinking header image). With the ampersand looking like an anchor. The current design and those in the link focus on the anchor, I'm suggesting to focus on the ampersand and make it look like an anchor by converting the serif tips into hooks.

Hmm, another impression of the current design. Looks like emwoild with for a financial service.

Once again, what is the imagery that you are trying to create in the viewers mind?"
