Os x note taking apps

College
Does anyone know any good note taking apps. I'd like them to let me organize notes by course and maybe another sub category. They should be easy to access and preferably have a nice user interface. Exporting them ad PDFs would be great but not required.

Any experiences?

Personally I LOVE Writer from iA. It formats notes with Markdown and dims past lines of text, helping you to focus on what you're currently writing. It's only $8.99 on the Mac App Store.

I don't really take notes on my Mac. I tend to just open up textedit and save the file on my Desktop :).

I have heard things about Evernote though. It is free in the App Store and it has pretty good ratings.

And in a kind of related way, there is another good app called MindNode that you can get for free from the App Store. It has an easy to use interface that can help you make mind maps. Oh, and it is also free.

Evernote is great because it syncs notes across all platforms (Mac, Mobile, Web) and has some nifty features. We used it for collaboration in my Broadcasting class in High School. When a student encountered something "newsworth" they would make a new Evernote note. Then on Monday we could log in and see everyone's observations and begin writing our news story.

MindNode is really nice. I've been using it daily for the past two weeks to build a giant map of an upcoming application we're building. It isn't a note taking app though ;)

I use the stickies app that is bundeled with OSX or pages. Also sometimes I just write in comments on whatever I'm working on. The math classes I take are the only ones were I really take notes and that is by paper.

Yea don't think class note taking is a good idea for stickies.

Ah, yes. I bought it when it was 20$. It's amazing. I also have it for iOS, so everything is synched with iCloud. Actually, it's not "synched". It's stored in the cloud.

Evernote. It's free and syncs the data across all devices. Mobile and computer. Free as well.

I think I'll continue to use pages. Might just upgrade to the new Mac beta, really want my pages documents to sync, esp. since I might be getting an iPad rather soon.

That doesn't let me organize new days notes and I would rather stick with pages.

I use Notebook. It would be perfect if it just had a "quick note" entry mode.

I personally use Pages for all my word processing, but Word is nicer for notes, because it has a special notes mode. Also, Word is free from my university.
