I must. find. this. game.
My memory of this game is pretty bleak, but the basic premise is that you're a soldier on a space ship, one of many guys sent to help terraform a new planet for human life. Turns out, this planet contains some pretty ferocious aliens (nothing sentient, apparently) that you and your other soldier buddies have to kill off because they keep attacking on the ground. So you crawl into these suits (or maybe it was just an interface for controlling robot drones on the ground? I forget) and you see the aliens through the screen and you shoot them and they die and blah blah blah. But one time the screen glitches out and it's not these ugly green aliens, it's these angelic almost-human faces. Then the display snaps back and you see the aliens again. So that's creepy, right? So you start to suspect that the things you're killing aren't evil ferocious brainless creatures at all, and dig down to get to the bottom of it ... and you find out you've been murdering this peaceful race of people the whole time, so that some asshole can profit off of a new planet to move humans to.
Aside from the basic outline, I don't remember much more about it ... except for the mess hall having a really cheesy advertisement for bratwurst at one point. And I barely remember the graphics, other than I think part of it was more like Myst, where there were occasionally sections of video overlaid on top of the main graphics when there was any significant animation.
Does this ring any bells for anyone? This is driving me NUTS.
