Yeah, I thought of that too. Zend or Java... Both bring issues to the table.

Alfresco is aiming to grab market share from MS's share point. Alfresco does document management and timed into open offfice. It probably ties into Libre Office too.

I proposed this to the local city hall and the only reason that the idea didn't go through was hardware leases tied MS to the machines. too bad because alfresco is pretty sweet.
