You say "Blue" but I don't see any blue.

I can't settle between the first and third one though. I like them both, it's just that one will look better with the rest of the page.

Edit: I think I see a little bit of blue in the first one, but it's like 2%.

I'm a huge huge fan of the blue, mostly because imagining that steely blue-grey carried throughout a webdesign with that pinstripe background would be gorgeous. But the logo itself is the smoothest as well ;-)

I was thinking of using the pinstripe only for the header and but keeping the blue-gray theme throughout with a solid color for the background. Would you prefer that the pinstripe pattern were the entire site's background?

No no no, it's perfect! The subtlety of it is beautiful.

I guess I was more envisioning a fixed-width site where the pinstripes stayed visible at the sides of the page, and the text would have a solid background or light gradient of some sort. But your method works too, especially for a fluid or responsive design. Either way, great style.

The blue matches the background and the gradient gives style.

I plan on using this for my personal website something like this-ish.

Is the slider a yay or nay
oh and I know the background is wrong but first I am looking at the slider.

If by 'slider' you mean the tab background, I gotta say nay. The purpose of such an indicator is to highlight the current tab, and that actually makes it harder to read than the rest.

Okay this is pretty close to the final copy, what do you think. Remember the pinstripe background repeats xaxis. Should look fairly awesome.

MUCH better highlighting-- I love it :)

The only thing I could suggest is making your logo a bit more unique. I once worked with a phenomenal designer who said the difference between an ok designer and a great designer is that a great designer won't use a font without altering it somehow. If you type that font into Illustrator and break it down into its outline, you could give one or two of the letters a unique shape that can't be easily replicated by any other random person with the same font. Your logo gets more unique, impressive, and eye-catching that way as well. Something to chew on :)

Either way, that's a beautiful header.

I think the main thing I would change is make the background pattern more subtle. It's a little distracting.

For future reference (and a bit of a UX tip) a user's eyes naturally scan across the page in a Z formation (see http://webdesign.tut...-in-web-design/). When designing you should keep this in mind and use visual element to encourage this natural movement. As you can see your vertical stripes run perpendicular to the content (instead of parallel which makes things more legible). Not a big deal but make sure it isn't distracting!

I guess the thing I'm focused on now is not screwing up the rest of the site. I just want to make sure it all flows together.
