Very cool service, Dida :) Best of luck!

sidenote: you have this in your post:

But couldn't someone leave their nameservers as-is and just change their A-record as well?

Don't mean to discourage you, but you do realize there are better deals out there? And decent VPSes are as little as $4 p/m (LEB).

I know that there are deals like that around 4$, but that's the point of this: a new user does not want much resources. This gives them an option for a cheaper service.

I've seen better deals in web hosting/shared hosting too, with automatic account setup.

What kind of server are you hosting this on? VPS or Dedi? What kind of specs? What location? Is it secure? Do you accept PayPal?

They are probably oversold / slow / have some kind of restriction or poor support.
I do not want to compete anyone though. This is just an offer and in my opinion, it does worth it.

Is it secure?

Absolutely.

Do you accept PayPal?

Of course. That is the preferred payment method.

There are servers in the US and in Germany too.

Awesome offer dida :)

Just one question (thats the question I personally always ask myself): Will your service last over a longer period of time, or will my websites go offline and disappear after a few weeks/months?

I don't know what you mean under a "longer period of time", but it is a long-term project with planned expandations. I guarantee that it will not go offline if there are any subscriptions online.

after a few weeks/months

Definitely not.

VPSes are unmanaged. Some people don't want to maintain their own server.

This. You didn't answer them :P

Repeat after me: jQuery is not JavaScript. It is not the answer to every JavaScript-related question. When you have to write some JavaScript, do not instantly react with "Oh, I'll do that with jQuery!"

The servers are all dedicated servers: two in the US, one in Germany.

I will post the specs when I get home.

One of my friends bought a VPS for around $4 and it was pretty decent. 1000Mbps port, SATA etc.

I'm currently hosting LightSpike's US server with a provider I found on LEB. Very nice deal too, no downtime and 1Gbps shared port which is decent enough.

(I should know what a good deal is, I worked at a hosting provider ;) )

don't want to hijack this here or anything, but knowing your posts, and because you said its absolutely secure i just have to ask: Do you manage your root server yourself, or is it a managed root server managed by server administrators?
