This sucks:

FIXME?
I'm searching for a post I seem to remember where kyek posted his nginx config for php-fpm...

what the...??

To provide a more constructive formulation: how are "short" keywords a bad thing if they are concise and describe exactly what you are looking for? and is it a good thing if the forum software rejects "html" as a search term in a webdev forum?

I'm well aware that I can google wdR, but it defeats the purpose of an internal search function with direct DB access if it blocks out relevant keywords ;)

I could name at least ten keywords which are one or two characters long but, if used in combination, are a very precise search term...
c vs php
c gcc
jpg vs gif
...you get the point, the world is full of popular acronyms.

That's a limitation of MySQL, unfortunately. FULLTEXT doesn't index any works under 4 characters, so IPB can't search with it. What's frustrating is that, even though we're using Sphinx for searches and indexing, IPB still imposes that limitation.

Further illustration. Let's assume I'm a new user on wdR and want to get infos about certain subjects:

As a new user, I wouldn't go check google for posts on wdR, I would just go elsewhere. That's why IMO this is a serious issue.

that sucks, but ...hacking the hell out of IPB for the sake of having a working search function? :P

Make the search use Google by default, but keep the built-in search as an option?
Daniel15! :D
Repeat after me: jQuery is not JavaScript. It is not the answer to every JavaScript-related question. When you have to write some JavaScript, do not instantly react with "Oh, I'll do that with jQuery!"

javascript:alert((''+[][[]])[!+[]+!+[]]+(![]+[])[+!+[]]+(''+!+[]/[])[+!+[]]+([![]]+[][[]])[+!+[]+[+[]]]+(''+!![])[+!+[]+!![]+!![]]+(![]+[])[!+[]+!+[]]+(+!+[])+(!+[]+!+[]+!+[]+!+[]+!+[]))
