Where to next?

After Rails For Zombies.
Soon enough, I will have had the free time to finish Rails for Zombies. I don't feel that confident with my knowledge of Rails yet. I will watch some of the videos over again, but what should I follow next to get a better understanding? Should I buy an actual book? If so, which book(s)? Should I buy RFZ 2?

I do not yet feel skilled enough to start a basic project, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the one best geared towards beginners that they have.

Also, get yourself a nice project to start with, learning by doing is the way to go.

Yes, that's their most popular book (besides, perhaps, their Ruby book).

Do you want to learn more Ruby, or learn more Rails (or both)? Are you confident with your Ruby knowledge?

Repeat after me: jQuery is not JavaScript. It is not the answer to every JavaScript-related question. When you have to write some JavaScript, do not instantly react with "Oh, I'll do that with jQuery!"

Ideally both, but I am primarily focused on Rails at the moment.

The only ruby I know comes from try ruby.

Since Rails is just a framework on top of Ruby, I think you should learn Ruby first :)

There's nothing wrong with that, though you will want to learn Ruby eventually.

I personally think starting with rails would be good, as it forces MVC. I have a bad habit of making spaghetti code.
